Puppies touch your
soul and before you know it, even with a seven year ban on all pets, you are
hopelessly in love. That’s cool...when it is someone else’s pet...you connect…share
some love… and then they are gone.
I loved it!! I was free, no one bossing
this gal around! I did what I wanted... when, where and how I wanted...and I was
minding my own business…. I had put in a hard day helping my friend move.
So while he finished up in the garage I was relaxing...tubing him up some cigarettes
cause he was tired too. It felt great to be off my feet!!
When my friend comes
in all excited!!!, saying, “You’ve got
to come see the puppies!!!... PUPPIES!! I like puppies!!! …so out I go...not knowing
that my universe was about to turn a whole new direction. I didn’t know there would be two, six week old Shih Tzu (pronounced
Shee dzoo) darlings in the back seat
of his friend’s car. OMG!!! There he was! The sweetest, wiry haired, little darling
I had ever seen!!! I was a goner. As he was handed to me “Hermy” popped in my
head and he became “Hermy” to me…then someone spoke those fateful words. ..”He’s
free for the taking”! I instantly wanted him...but I didn’t want a puppy!!
Since I’m staying
with Lanya, my daughter..I thought: "Here’s my out!!" I tell them what’s up and
borrow a phone. Lanya won’t want another pet; she already has two cats in a not
too big place!! She’ll save me!!
“Hi Lanya”, I say when she answers, “Did you have a nice day?”...”
Can I bring a puppy home?”… fingers crossed. “What kind of a puppy is it?”… “He’s a six week
old Shih Tzu puppy, without a mom...which
is why he’s available so young.”
Lanya,“PUPPY!!!!! Yeah, you can bring him home!!!... All was lost!!
Puppies are
wonderful in soooo many ways...and Hermy will stay puppy sized his whole life!!!, how cute!! What have I done???
One moment of weakness and I’ve sentenced myself to a lifetime commitment. I’ve already
spent more money on Hermy in a week than I have on myself in months. Which doesn’t,
even, include the gifts he’s already received from his many admirers. Puppies
are expensive!!!!!!
So far Hermy is 75% adorable and 25% feed, go potty, and let’s play!! I take naps while he's sleeping cause young puppies don’t sleep through the night.
Yes, I love every moment! He’s just so, so, so freaking ADORABLE!!!!!!
It'll be quite a bit easier...once his training stage is successful, which should be soon since he is very smart. He gives me so much love....and I am happy
for the carefree years I granted myself.
When Hermy and I take off down the road…our sign will read…
“SOMEWHERE SCENIC”.
